Self Centred Hair Care was founded by Kate Drayton — owner, operator, and creative force behind the brand. With over 20 years of experience in the hair industry, Kate has built a reputation for delivering exceptional results, earning multiple accolades along the way, including 2025 Wedding Hair Stylist of the Year.
Kate specialises in wedding hair and makeup, while also working in a busy salon environment where she is known for her expertise in blondes and textured haircuts. Over the years, she has worked with a wide range of professional product lines, giving her a deep understanding of what truly works — not just for the hair, but for the client experience. Through this, she recognised a gap in the market: clients wanted more from their hair care — more performance, more personalisation, and more intention.
Self Centred Hair Care was created to meet that need.
Behind the scenes, Kate is supported by her husband and co-owner, Josh, who manages the back end of the business. Together, they balance business and family life with their two young children, Ruby and Chase.
