At Self Centred Hair Care, we operate in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. These laws ensure that products are of acceptable quality, match their description, and are fit for purpose.
Your Rights Under New Zealand Law
If a product is:

You are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Guarantees Act. This may include a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the situation.
Change of Mind Returns
As our products are personal care items and often customised (including tint and essential oil selections), we do not offer returns or exchanges for change of mind.
Please choose carefully, and feel free to contact us if you need help selecting the right product for your hair.
Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order upon arrival. If your item is:

Incorrect
Contact us as soon as possible at contact@selfcentred.co.nz with your order details and photos if applicable. We will work quickly to resolve the issue in line with your rights under New Zealand consumer law.
Returns Process
To request a return for a faulty or incorrect item, please contact us at contact@selfcentred.co.nz
If your return is approved:

We will provide instructions on how to return the item

In some cases, we may cover return shipping

We will assess the product once received and arrange a replacement or refund where applicable
Please do not send items back without contacting us first, as they may not be accepted.
Non-Returnable Items
Due to hygiene and safety reasons, we do not accept returns on:

Opened or used personal care products (unless faulty)

Customised products (including tinted or personalised formulations), unless there is a fault

Sale items or gift cards
Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will be processed back to your original payment method within a reasonable timeframe. Please allow additional time for your bank or payment provider to complete the transaction.
